Miss Jemima, Migros and me

The Slow Train is going on tour across Switzerland, thanks to Migros Klubschule. Starting in St Gallen (above) on 17 January there will be a series of nine talks in different locations nationwide, each on a Friday evening. And all are free, although as places are limited you need to reserve a seat by clicking here (or the individual links below) and filling out the form.
Here are the dates and places coming up, each time at Migros Klubschule:
- 17 January in St Gallen
- 24 January in Aarau
- 14 February in Zug
- 21 February in Bern Bahnhof
- 28 February in Chur
- 7 March in Winterthur
- 28 March in Lugano
- 4 April in Basel
- 11 April in Zurich Limmatplatz
Each of the events starts at 6pm with a chance to learn about English courses and Cambridge exams at Migros Klubschule. Then precisely at 7pm (as this is Switzerland) I will be speaking about my travels with Miss Jemima, Thomas Cook and the Slow Train to Switzerland – with plenty of vintage pictures from the book. After a Q&A discussion, you’ll have the chance to buy signed copies of my books (or bring along your own for me to sign) and by 8.30pm it will all be over. And the Slow Train will be off on tour again.
All the events are free so this is the perfect chance to come and discover what Switzerland was like before it was rich and famous or to find out what those early tourists had to endure. The evenings will be relaxed and informal – and very popular if past Migros Klubschule events are anything to go by. Last time in St Gallen it was sold out!
If you can’t make any of those, then I am also speaking at a Business Lunch in Geneva on 27 February, hosted by the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce. The lunch is open to non-BSCC-members as well but is definitely not free! Registrations here.
Hope to see you at one of those events!
